We currently have a great assignment for an A/E Design Manager. This individual will support our client, a facility engineering and design company supporting federal and local government agencies. Job Responsibilities

The A/E Design Manager will become the leader of our client’s engineering design team in Severna Park, MD. The A/E Design Manager will manage multiple simultaneous A/E design projects and is responsible for profitability of the design engineering group.

Responsibilities of the A/E Design Manager include:

• Leading design teams, delivering commercially based design solutions and managing the various deliverables

• Scoping and packaging the work, plus managing and controlling the design process from preliminary solutions through the construction phase

• Working with managers, project engineers and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules and clear project delivery plans

• Working closely with federal clients, leading and managing the development of the design scope through the lifecycle from inception to construction completion

• Driving innovating solutions during bid and delivery phase

• Undertaking regular coordination/design reviews with the design and federal teams to actively manage change and ensuring timely submission of early warnings and change orders

Specific qualifications for the A/E Design Manager include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering
• Professional Engineering registration
• Minimum of 10 years of experience managing “at risk” design projects
• Strong technically based leadership skills with proficient understanding of multi-engineering disciplines and technical design standards
• Experience preparing A/E cost proposals
• Strong project management skills
• Broad knowledge of construction, design and management of federal facility projects and/or medical AE design
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of applications
• Ability to travel to project sites, bid meetings and kick-off call meetings as needed
