We currently have a great assignment for an A/E Design Project Manager (Construction). This individual will support our client, a facility engineering and design company supporting federal and local government agencies. Job Responsibilities
The A/E Design Project Manager (Construction) will become the leader of our client’s engineering design team in Severna Park, MD. The A/E Design Project Manager will manage multiple simultaneous A/E design projects.
Responsibilities of the A/E Design Project Manager (Construction) include:
- Managing federal IDIQ contract, to include client management
- Overseeing and leadership of a 6-8 person in-house design team, various subcontractors and consultants
- Planning, coordinating and managing all MEP project activities to ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes and specifications
- Developing, reviewing and approving MEP design and construction documents
- Coordinating and collaborating with project stakeholders, including architects, structural engineers and contractors to ensure project goals are met
- Conducting site inspections to ensure adherence to engineering standards and specifications
- Monitoring and managing project budgets and schedules
- Providing technical support and guidance to junior engineers and team members
Job Requirements
Specific qualifications for the A/E Design Manager (Construction) include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineering registration
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in MEP engineering, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and safety laws
- Proficient in the use of design and calculation software
- Excellent project management skills with a demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of applications
- Ability to travel to project sites, bid meetings and kick-off call meetings as needed
