We currently have a great assignment for an Electrical Engineer. This individual will support our client, a construction management firm helping their clients manage large, complex construction projects. Job Responsibilities
The Electrical Engineer will join our client’s engineering team in Jacksonville, NC and will provide technical oversight for the design, installation and acceptance of electrical systems.
Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer include:
- Performing technical reviews of design packages, equipment startup documents, 3rd party testing reports, commissioning test scripts and acceptance tests
- Verifying electrical equipment and systems have been installed and tested in accordance with the design and meet the design intent, levels or performance and energy efficiency
- Participating in commissioning and acceptance test activities with designers, contractors, equipment vendors, commissioning authorities and Public Works personnel
- Providing technical support to Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR), Government Electrical Acceptance Engineer, construction managers and engineering technicians
Job Requirements
Specific qualifications for the Electrical Engineer include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited ABET university and possess a current professional engineer (PE) license combined with 5 years’ experience, or possess a current professional engineer (PE) license with 10 years’ minimum experience in electrical engineering field
- Five (5) years of experience in startup, acceptance testing and performance field verification of commercial electrical systems including:
- Direct digital control systems
- Power monitoring
- Permanent and temporary power equipment
- Feeders
- Vaults
- Cabling and Wiring
- Terminations
- Substations, switchgears and breakers
- Fire alarms, sprinklers and security systems
- Working knowledge of National Electric Codes, NFPA70E and OSHA guidelines regarding safe construction practices
- Familiarity with commissioning and acceptance processes, preferably with NAVFAC or USACE
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, email, internet navigation and web based tools
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be able to pass a Public Trust background check
