We currently have a great assignment for a Prime Contracts Manager with one of our top clients.  As a Prime Contracts Manager, you will be supporting our client, one of the world’s largest engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), maintenance and project management companies.

Job Responsibilities

The Prime Contract Manager will be responsible for working with the Project Manager and project team to identify and maintain the prime contracts baseline and to develop a prime contract management program for the project consistent with the established Prime Contract Administration practices and guidelines, typically including a contract brief, a contract abstract, a project change management procedure and mechanisms to monitor Project compliance with prime contract terms and conditions, including:

  • Providing ongoing training in the various aspects of prime contract management to Project Managers and to other key members of project teams to address prime contract management principles, subcontract formation and administration, identification, preparation and resolution of claims
  • Working with Project Management to ensure that Company’s entitlement to additional time and compensation is properly documented and communicated to the Customer
  • Providing claims identification, development and presentation support to the Project team, assisting in the management and resolution of claims, as required
  • Working with Construction, Engineering, Contracts and Supply Chain Management, Legal, and Insurance & Risk Management to assist in facilitating organizational interfaces between those performing subcontract formation and administration
  • Responsible for the effective administration of Prime Contracts and Task Orders in accordance with Company practices and contract requirements
  • Responsible for managing an effective change management program in coordination with Project Controls, Estimating and other personnel involved in change management
  • Coordinating with line managers and senior functional and organization managers, review financial data for projects on a regular basis to identify projects with deteriorating profitability which may need specialized contracts / claims support
  • Providing contracts reviews / audits to identify potential contracts problems and process improvement opportunities
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of systems and resources necessary to make improvements
  • Attending meetings with architects and owners as needed on various projects to coordinate project designs and requirements
  • Conducting field surveys on various projects
  • Conducting site visits to witness construction progress

Specific qualifications for the Prime Contract Manager role include:

  • Accredited four-year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study preferred
  • Fifteen years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly-related experience equal to twenty years if non-degreed
  • Must have experience working on major Design-Build projects valued at $100Million and higher
  • Experience working on a P3 project is preferred
  • Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) certification is preferred
