We currently have a great assignment for a Construction Coordinator. As a Construction Coordinator, you will support our client, a full-service engineering and construction firm providing lasting and integrated solutions in water, environment, transportation, energy and facilities to public and private clients.

Job Responsibilities

The Construction Coordinator will be working on the city’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) including wastewater Consent Decree and other water and wastewater projects. The Construction Coordinator will be responsible for administration and coordination of technical issues, implementation and execution of the quality assurance plan. The Construction Coordinator will provide contract administrative assistance to the Construction Manager in management of multiple projects. Other core responsibilities will include document control, taking and distributing meeting notes, assisting in the preparation of project progress reports and additional duties shall include:

  • Communicating and interfacing with internal / external team members and authorities involved in the planning, design, execution and construction phases of each project
  • Managing contractor information which may involve maintaining tracking logs, documenting deliverables, establishing hard and electronic project file set-up and tracking action items
  • Coordinating and attending progress meetings and construction meetings
  • Creating and distributing meeting agendas, meeting notes and spreadsheets for O&M manuals, spare parts, training, testing and supporting documentation
  • Drafting pre-construction meeting notices, agendas and Notice to Proceed (NTP) letters
  • Logging and distributing project information and pre-construction submittals supplied by project participants
  • Overseeing and examining contractor compliance with design documents, contract drawings and specifications
  • Reviewing contractor pay estimates, change orders and other pertinent contractor documents and forwarding to the appropriate department for approval
  • Providing temporary inspection services at field project sites on an as-needed basis
  • Distributing soils and materials testing reports, logging information and maintaining a permanent file
  • Serving as primary contact for submission of liability reports, incident / accident reports and workers compensation reports

Specific qualifications for the Construction Coordinator role include:

  • B.S. Degree or higher in engineering, construction management or similar applicable discipline is preferred
  • 5 years minimum of experience providing water and wastewater infrastructure construction coordination or public works project coordination
  • Experience in coordinating underground utility and sewer pipeline projects is preferred
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Program Management Information System (PMIS), specifically Primavera Unifier, is preferred
