Job Overview:

RealStreet is seeking a motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our client’s team in Jacksonville, NC, supporting high-profile construction projects. In this role, you will provide critical technical oversight in commissioning, acceptance testing and performance verification of mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems for large-scale, complex projects. Your expertise will directly contribute to the successful completion of these projects, ensuring systems are fully operational, energy-efficient and built to specification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review & Verify Designs: Perform technical reviews of design packages, startup documents, testing reports, and commissioning scripts to ensure alignment with project requirements and regulatory standards
• Ensure System Readiness: Validate the installation and testing of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications, performance standards, and energy efficiency goals
• Lead Testing & Commissioning: Drive commissioning and acceptance testing efforts, working alongside contractors and engineers to confirm systems are fully operational and meet expectations
• Technical Support: Provide technical guidance to the Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR), Government Electrical Acceptance Engineer, construction managers, and engineering teams

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited)
• Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) License
• Experience: 5+ years of electrical engineering field experience, with a focus on startup, acceptance testing and performance verification of commercial electrical systems
• Commissioning & Testing Knowledge: Strong understanding of commissioning and acceptance processes, preferably with NAVFAC or USACE
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with National Electric Codes (NEC), NFPA70E and OSHA construction safety standards.
• Software: Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable using web-based tools
• Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a Public Trust background check.
