RealStreet has an assignment for an Electrical Project Engineer in West Chester, PA. This individual will support our client, a premier provider of environmental and infrastructure support services serving federal, state and local government. Job Responsibilities

The Electrical Project Engineer will be responsible for the technical execution of electrical system design, bidding and construction on various projects. Additional responsibilities of the Electrical Project Engineer include:

  • Providing technical direction towards the development of project scope of work
  • Providing technical expertise on all aspects associated with conceptual engineering, detailed engineering designs and contract preparations for construction
  • Preparing detailed design drawings and specification
  • Responding to RFIs and conducting shop drawing reviews
  • Leading proposal preparation efforts and development of project costs
  • Assisting the Project Manager with the development of estimates and the ongoing tracking of project costs
  • Providing field QA / QC services and general oversight of projects relating to electrical systems
  • Performing various engineering related calculations and analyses of information in the application of the basic design criteria to ensure conformance with the Engineering Quality Management Plan
  • Coordinating with project teams, engineers, CAD staff and clients to complete assignments

Job Requirements

Specific qualifications for the Electrical Project Engineer role include:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program
  • Four (4) or more years of related experience as an electrical project engineer working on small to medium (ranging from $100k - $700k) design and/or construction projects with project teams and subcontractors
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to become a registered PE within 2 years
  • Familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E (Arc Flash Safety)
  • Practical experience with the following:
    • Programmable logic controller (PLC)-based control systems / instrumentation
    • Hard wired relay control systems
    • Wireless radio frequency (RF) communications
    • Network infrastructure and design
    • Advanced metering and Smart Grid
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance
  • A valid driver’s license with the ability to travel locally (20% of time) within the Philadelphia metro area
