We currently have a great assignment for an Environmental Engineer. As an Environmental Engineer with RealStreet, you will be working on an Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Program for a mission critical customer.

Job Responsibilities

The Environmental Engineer position is based in Springfield, Virginia and will be responsible for performing general environmental hazardous material support services and analysis to ensure the success of the environmental program, and additional duties shall include:

  • Managing the on-site and off-site hazardous material activities including development and oversight of programs
  • Planning, designing and directing programs to solve problems concerned with hazardous material
  • Performing technical research and utilizing computers as aids in developing solutions to the management and storage of hazardous materials
  • Formulating plans, designs, cost estimates and specifications
  • Conducting required environmental & safety analyses and observations and supporting the Site Manager with surveillances by local environmental safety or occupational health offices (ESOH)
  • Evaluating results and making recommendations as necessary for maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies
  • Conducting ESOH training with Contractor employees
  • Maintaining a written ESOH plan that will address the approach to complying with ISO 14001:2004 and OSHA’s 18001:2007
  • Maintaining the Spill Plan and providing all training and reporting in accordance with the plan

Job Requirements

Specific qualifications for the Environmental Engineer role include:

  • B.S. Degree in Environmental Studies, Biology or Chemistry is desired
  • 4 years minimum of position-related experience
  • Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the environmental and safety compliance fields
  • Must have working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have an active TS security clearance, with an active TS/SCI clearance preferred
