We currently have a great assignment for a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer with project management capabilities in Rockville, MD. This individual will support our client, a leading engineering consulting firm. Job Responsibilities

The Mechanical or Electrical Project Engineer will work alongside the Project Manager and Senior Engineer to design systems for buildings, such as:

  • Laboratories
  • Data Centers
  • Healthcare facilities
  • Retail spaces

Additional responsibilities of the Mechanical or Electrical Project Engineer include:

  • Performing construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including:
    • Conducting field inspections
    • Surveying existing systems
    • Preparing detailed inspection reports
  • Assisting with the development of project scope
  • Supporting the development of system designs, specifications, narratives and layouts for a variety of systems and projects, such as:
    • HVAC
    • Sanitation
  • Producing deliverables including calculations, drawings and specifications
  • Ensuring that drawings and designs are in accordance with company production and design standards
  • Developing a mechanical engineering team, to include:
    • Hiring 2-4 junior technical engineers
    • Training and mentoring junior technical engineers
  • Attending project meetings and providing status updates
  • Conducting site visits to ensure ongoing project success

Job Requirements

Specific qualifications for the Mechanical or Electrical Project Engineer include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Four (4) or more years of experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable design and codes for mechanical systems
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency with:
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Expert in AutoCAD; the most recent version is preferred
    • Revit is preferred
