RealStreet currently has a great assignment for a National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Inspector / Monitor. This individual will support our client, a government contractor that provides a full range of professional services in mission support and management, civil engineering and medical operations. Job Responsibilities

The NEPA Inspector / Monitor will support the government client and subcontractors completing construction projects projects at Beale Air Force Base, CA.

Additional responsibilities of the NEPA Inspector / Monitor include:

  • Monitor and survey work sites for sensitive biological resources and special-status species
  • Inspect work sites for compliance with resource agency permits
  • Coordinate with project managers, team members, construction supervisors and crew members
  • Prepare and provide daily field monitoring reports
  • Perform NEPA Environmental Site Assessments 
  • Collect and report data, including GIS or GPS mapping and photo documentation
  • Provide technical and administrative support to develop, plan, program and execute Facilities, Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization projects
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing; negotiate complex issues and maintain good working relationships
  • Follow standard practices and procedures

Job Requirements

Job Requirements

Requirements of the NEPA Inspector / Monitor role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Natural Resources, Environmental Science or a related field
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in biological monitoring including but not limited to the following:
    •  Working on construction sites
    • Threated and endangered species
    • Wildlife and vegetation in northern California
    • Vernal pools, wetlands and similar habitat
    • US Fish and Wildlife Service and best practices for natural resources
    • Monitoring effects for cultural resources
    • Familiarity with United States Air Force, military or government projects
  • Experience working with the Microsoft Suite and RS Means or Paces cost estimating software
