We currently have a great assignment for a Principal Civil Engineer. This individual will support our client, an engineering, procurement and construction services firm with projects around the world. Job Responsibilities
The Principal Civil Engineer will provide Civil Engineering services for nuclear projects out of our client’s office in Greenville, South Carolina.
Responsibilities of the Principal Civil Engineer include:
- Planning, organizing and coordinating civil engineering and multi-disciplined design projects
- Engaging in the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects
- Generating designs related to water distribution systems, water supply, sewage collection, distribution and treatment, grading and drainage, and pavement evaluation and design
- Reviewing and evaluating the accuracy of design, calculations and specifications
- Conducting construction document reviews
- Providing technical direction to assigned engineers
Job Requirements
Specific qualifications for the Principal Civil Engineer include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or another related field
- Fifteen (15) years of relevant experience, including design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation and related phases of engineering; preferred experience includes:
- Federal project experience with the Department of Energy (DOE) or the Department of Defense (DoD)
- A strong understanding of civil industrial work, with the ability to perform detailed layout and designs
- Experience preparing civil related permits and reports
- Experience leading a small to medium project
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred
- Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of 2D and 3D modeling software and procedures (stormwater pond design, storm drainage design, pipe networks, earthwork cut and fill calculations)
- A working knowledge of Federal (including the Department of Energy), state and local codes and standards applicable to civil engineering design, as well as commercial availability and cost of materials, means and methods of construction
- Must be a US Citizen
