Job Description

We currently have a great assignment for a Project Manager. 
As a Project Manager, you will be supporting our client who is an industry leader in construction management, preconstruction consulting, design & building services and general contracting.


Job Responsibilities


The Project Manager will be based in Baltimore, MD and will primarily manage the operational, personnel and financial aspects of construction projects.  Additional responsibilities and duties shall include:

  • Serving as the primary contact with the client, communicating initial project setup information and periodic project status and representing the company in meetings
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of contract provisions and requirements including plans, specifications, owner's contract, subcontracts and purchase orders
  • Developing and analyzing preliminary project documentation such as job costing, subcontracts and PO’s
  • Developing, managing and communicating the project schedule
  • Organizing and planning the execution of the physical work
  • Overseeing and managing the submittal and close-out processes
  • Organizing and executing project safety compliance
  • Recognizing risks to project progress or compliance with contractual requirements and implementing corrective measures
  • Maintaining strict control of the project budget for each work activity and reporting monthly on project progress & profitability
  • Developing scopes of work and writing subcontracts & PO’s
  • Reviewing and approving subcontractor and vendor invoices and change requests
  • Preparing, quoting and negotiating contract changes with client
  • Managing the RFI process
  • Maintaining open communication with all stakeholders, other support and business units involved with the project as well as local union officials
  • Promoting goodwill with clients, architects, engineers, etc., to facilitate construction activities and future repeat business
  • Supervising the project activities of the on-site project engineer and field superintendents
  • Participating in bidding, pre-construction services, budgeting and Continuous Improvement Programs
  • Performing some estimating responsibilities, as needed

Job Requirements

Specific qualifications for the Project Manager role include:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or a related field is preferred
  • Seven or more years of commercial general construction experience is required
  • Ability to plan, coordinate and oversee the execution of commercial and public-sector construction projects, both ground-up and renovations, ranging up to $15 million
  • Demonstrated skill using the MS Office Suite programs and project management software such as Primavera
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills and ability to work successfully in a collaborative team environment required
  • Well-developed financial skills including budgeting, forecasting and analyzing financial statements required
