RealStreet currently has a great opportunity for a Project Manager - Survey in Chicago, IL. This individual will support our client, a professional engineering firm that offers a variety of environmental, engineering, industrial hygiene and survey services to clients throughout the Midwest. Job Responsibilities

The Project Manager will be the principal administrator and responsible for overseeing of assigned surveying projects ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

Additional responsibilities of the Project Manager include:

  • Analyzing and set forth surveying procedures within the project scope from the RFP to proposal submission
  • Must have thorough understanding and be well versed in the contract of the project and of client’s objectives
  • Organizing and managing the scope of work, to include:
    • Research of parent tracts, title review and boundary survey for the development of plats of highways and legal descriptions
    • Performance of All American Land Title Association (ALTA) / National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) land title surveys, boundary determinations and computations and construction stakeout comp
    • Proper distribution of all incoming and outgoing project information
  • Managing the administration of the project, to include:
    • Administering the budget
    • Developing and monitoring the project design schedule to meet Client’s time objectives and project demands
    • Administering the organization for the project and establishing documentation
    • Performing, directing, preparing and reviewing statutory surveys as required by the contract
    • Preparing draft service contracts for outside consultants when required
    • Communicating the status of the project to Client, Department Manager and the firm’s Accounting Department

Job Requirements

Requirements of the Project Manager role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering geomatics, civil surveying or an associated field with 24 semester hours of surveying
  • Professional licensure in the state of Illinois (SIT/Surveyor in Training or PLS/Professional Land Surveyor) or ability to obtain a PLS in Illinois
  • Five (5) or more years Survey Project Manager experience
  • Proficiency with in AutoCad and MicroStation software required
  • Basic knowledge of project accounting is required
  • Working knowledge of the following is a plus:
    • Trimble Business Center
    • RealWorks
    • ArcGIS
