We currently have a great assignment for a Scheduler (Construction) with one of our top clients.  As a Scheduler (Construction), you will be supporting our client, one of the world’s largest engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), maintenance and project management companies.  The Scheduler (Construction) will join the project team supporting the construction of a large transit project.

Job Responsibilities

The Scheduler (Construction) will be responsible for maintaining level I, II and III schedules and preparing look-ahead schedules. Other responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with lead scheduler to develop and maintain detailed resource loaded schedules of projects using P6
  • Working in collaboration with construction to drive consistency of the project scheduling approach to facilitate accuracy in project execution and reporting, and manage the project float
  • Be able to develop Level 4 or 5 schedules as per construction requirements
  • Proactively collect information from each department, use earned value and update the schedule on a monthly basis or as required
  • Developing and maintaining the project (S curve) progress including design / engineering, contract / procurement and construction
  • Supporting lead scheduler to prepare and collect the backup information for monthly progress report, 90 days look ahead and documentation for monthly schedule meetings with the client
  • Integrating multiple schedules into a master project schedule, baseline, status, performance measurement baseline
  • Developing and maintaining schedule reports, Gantt, milestone charts and other progress management tools
  • Supporting the management team in the planning, tracking, analysis and reporting of projects and ensures that they are followed on project schedules
  • Identifying major milestones, decision points, project life-cycle and other project events
  • Troubleshooting and monitoring potential scheduling problems
  • Assisting in defining and implementing schedule software (Primavera P6) management processes and procedures regarding scheduling conflicts / changes
  • Maintaining accurate records / paperwork
  • Facilitating and participating in internal weekly schedule reviews
  • Supporting lead scheduler to prepare Time Impact Analysis for changes

Specific qualifications for the Scheduler (Construction) role include:

  • Accredited four year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study
  • Minimum of five years of work-related experience managing an engineering, procurement and construction schedule
  • Experience using P6 to manage the Master Schedules and the supporting detailed schedules
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite including Excel
  • Experience with Earned value methodologies
  • Strong organizational, analytical, verbal & writing skills, to include solid experience in writing functional and technical specifications
