We currently have a great assignment for a Senior Electrical Designer. This individual will support our client, an engineering, procurement and construction services firm with projects around the world. Job Responsibilities
The Senior Electrical Designer will serve as Design Area Lead, providing essential administrative, technical and electrical design support on nuclear projects in South Carolina.
Responsibilities of the Senior Electrical Designer include:
- Reading, interpreting and generating design drawings with minimal input from engineers
- Developing estimates, schedules, staffing requirements, progress reports and key quantities tracking reports
- Preparing 3D layouts and schematics, creating 3D models of advanced complexity and conducting reviews of models using 3D review platform
- Preparing 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings of advanced complexity
- Checking work done by other Designers
- Walking down field systems, with minimal guidance, to interpret field directions, generate minor design details, create new drawings and modify existing drawings
- Analyzing and making independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organizational and project objectives and guidelines
- Providing direction to junior drafters
Job Requirements
Specific qualifications for the Senior Electrical Designer include:
- Associate’s degree in engineering or another relevant field of study
- Ten (10) years of relevant electrical engineering design / drafting experience on Federal projects, such as:
- Department of Energy (DOE)
- Department of Defense (DoD)
- Nuclear Operations, preferred
- Computer and software skills to include:
- Experience using word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
- Proficiency with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, with demonstrated experience producing drawings with minimum supervision
- 3D modeling experience, preferably using Integraph S3D and SEL
- Ability to walk down field systems
- Must be a US Citizen
