We currently have a great assignment for a Senior Electrical Designer with one of our top clients.  As a Senior Electrical Designer, you will be supporting our client, a fully-integrated team of architects, engineers, interior designers and planners focused on creating exceptional spaces through architecture.  This position will be based in Orlando, Florida. 

Job Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Senior Electrical Designer is to provide electrical engineering services and to lead the design team members working with a variety of clients in various sectors.  Additional responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide engineering services for the full life cycle of projects, from conceptual planning to completed construction
  • Meet with the Project Manager to discuss and prepare the design, scope, schedule and budget
  • Design electrical engineering systems including power distribution, lighting, low-voltage and fire alarm systems among others
  • Perform engineering calculations
  • Total management of specific projects including personnel, quality, client expectations and profitability
  • Coordinate with architects, other engineering disciplines and construction personnel
  • Supervise subordinate personnel or assist other engineers and designers
  • Perform quality assurance on projects
  • Estimate discipline man-hours required to complete the design requirements of a project
  • Apply practical knowledge and experience
  • Additional duties as required

Job Requirements

Specific qualifications for the Senior Electrical Designer role include the following:

  • 15 or more years of Electrical Engineering design experience required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Prior experience working on DOD healthcare projects required; additional experience working with commercial, educational or industrial clients preferred
  • Strong knowledge of DOD UFC design criteria required
  • Knowledge of discipline-specific codes and other building codes required
  • Independent decision-making skills and ability to communicate with in-house and client parties in a professional and timely manner
  • Ability to meet fast-paced deadlines while maintaining design quality
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit required; SKM Dapper / Captor and Visual or AGi32 skills a plus
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license helpful
  • Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification preferred
  • Ability to travel as needed (approximately 1 week every 2 months)
