We currently have a great opportunity for Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) / Quality Control Manager (QCM). This individual will support our client, an Environmental Services firmbased out of Virginia Beach, VA. Job Responsibilities
The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) / Quality Control Manager (QCM) will become a part of our client’s construction team. This is a remote position that requires travel to projects throughout the east coast. This position will be responsible for documenting and executing the quality control system, as well as creating and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment on construction projects.
Responsibilities of the SSHO / QCM include:
- Conducting daily field inspections, identifying issues and maintaining quality and safety documentation
- Evaluating shop drawings for compliance with project specifications
- Reviewing quality of work for compliance with contract requirements
- Verifying and documenting materials received, reviewing specification requirements
- Preparing and submitting daily Quality Control (QC) reports
- Physically inspecting work flow process to ensure quality is maintained
- Leading quality control meetings with stakeholders
- Implementing and enforcing accepted Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA’s)
- Following the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) 3 phase inspection process and maintaining environmental, health and safety conditions
Job Requirements
Specific qualifications for the SSHO / QCM include:
- High School Diploma
- Five (5) years of heavy civil or environmental construction project experience is required, NAVFAC and Federal experience is preferred
- Possession of the following certifications, or have the ability to successfully complete within six months:
- USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM)
- OSHA 30-hour Construction
- OSHA 40-hour Hazardous Waste Worker
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Outlook and Excel, version 2019
- Ability to travel east coast 50%-75%
- Authorized to work in the US
