We currently have a great assignment for a Superintendent with one of our top clients.  As a Superintendent, you will be supporting our client who is an industry leader in construction management, preconstruction consulting, design & building services and general contracting.  This position will be based in Baltimore, MD.


Job Responsibilities

As a Superintendent, your primary responsibility will be to manage the daily job site activities and help guarantee our commitment to building the right way by maintaining or improving the project schedule.  Additional responsibilities will vary depending on the scope and magnitude of each project, but will usually include the following:

  • Managing relationships with clients, design team, internal project team, subcontractors and inspectors
  • Managing the activities of subcontractors, vendors and labor, maintaining close control over the accuracy and quality for each work activity
  • Leading and mentoring other employees
  • Developing detailed project logistics plan
  • Taking direct responsibility for developing and managing project-specific safety plans is a priority
  • Ensuring work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications and local building codes
  • Enforcing a quality control plan and maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Developing the project flow while maintaining project master and 2-week outlook schedules
  • Conducting subcontract meetings to discuss job progress and safety
  • Coordinating material deliveries
  • Maintaining project documentation to include daily reports and jobsite progress photos
  • Maintaining a current, complete set of project documents, blueprints, revisions, specifications and related items
  • Maintaining a complete set of as-built documents
  • Identifying and reporting problems or deficiencies to the Project Manager and documenting on-site activities that may impede progress or compliance to project and contract requirements
  • Assisting the Project Manager in reviewing change orders prior to execution, approving miscellaneous purchases and reviewing subcontract agreements while maintaining close control over the budget for each work activity

Specific qualifications for the Superintendent role include:

  • Five to ten years of commercial general construction experience are required
  • A four-year undergraduate degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or a related field is preferred
  • A working knowledge of MS Office Suite programs including Word, Excel and Outlook is required and proficiency with MS Project is preferred
