We currently have a great assignment for a Train Control Field Engineer with one of our top clients.  As a Train Control Field Engineer, you will be supporting our client, one of the world’s largest engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), maintenance and project management companies.  The Train Control Field Engineer will join the project team supporting the construction of a large transit project.

Job Responsibilities

The Train Control Field Engineer will be responsible for planning and managing work for transit rail design, construction, testing and commissioning, to include:

  • Overseeing major design and construction subcontractors
  • Participating in design coordination meetings between sub-contractor and other designers
  • Coordinating with other field work to enable effective implementation of train control system including maintenance of traffic services
  • Supporting design, installation and testing of train control system including all wayside and car-borne equipment
  • Managing and coordinating subcontractor field work with other contractors and across multiple construction work zones
  • Performing site reviews in Central Instrument Houses (CIH) and along railroad tracks
  • Supporting development and execution of Test Program and provide all necessary documentation for applicable qualification tests, factory demonstration tests, installation tests and performance and integration tests
  • Interface with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) and stakeholders

Specific qualifications for the Train Control Field Engineer role include:

  • B.S. degree or higher in applicable field of study
  • Minimum of 5 years of work-related experience in the field of transit rail design, construction, testing and commissioning
  • Knowledge of applicable local, state and federal statutes and guidelines is preferred
  • Experience interfacing with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), clients, vendors, contractors and visitors
  • Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
